Location & Directions

Located approximately 30 miles west of Creede and 40 miles south of Lake City off of Colorado Highway 149, Little Squaw is nestled at the convergence of the Rio Grande River and Little Squaw Creek. 37.7289, -107.234 Be sure to check CDOT for current road conditions. https://www.cotrip.org/

Directions from Creede:

From the corner of Rio Grand Ave. and CO-149 in Creede, travel West on CO-149 for 19.5 miles. Turn left onto CO Rd 18 (just past the scenic overlook). Continue 9.7 miles (staying left at the splits in the road). Take a left at the split in the road at the River Hill Campground sign. Stay right to cross over the bridge. Welcome to Little Squaw! Be sure to close the gate behind you.

Directions from Lake City:

Head South on CO-149 for 30.5 miles. Turn right onto CO Rd 18. Continue 9.7 miles (staying left at the splits in the road). Take a left at the split in the road at the River Hill Campground sign. Stay right to cross over the bridge. Welcome to Little Squaw! Be sure to close the gate behind you.

Directions from Denver:

We recommend taking 285 Southwest outside of Denver travelling through Fairplay, passing south of Buena Vista, turning west at Center to go through Del Norte, South Fork and Creede.
